This creepy looking statue is the founder of Florida State University. I've worked for FSU for years now, and finally decided to take a foot tour of the campus. It is a lovely campus, but I felt especially old with all the little high school kids taking tours with their parents, and the summer students milling about.
This blog contains the views and thoughts of me, the aforementioned Dilettante, as I see the world through my lens and my imagination. I make no claims to possessing any talent, but hope that someone, somewhere, will enjoy the view from my perspective.

Spring Flowers
This month I visited Goodwood Gardens in Tallahassee for the first time. I guess I waited too far into spring because the blooms were few and far between. It was free to go and look around, but there really wasn't anything good to see. I did not tour the house because I'm not a fan of touring old houses. I've not been to one that was worth touring, so I didn't think this one would be any more interesting than houses I've toured in the past. Over all, the trip was a bust.

Brooklyn Bridge
I took this photo from the top of a tour bus in 2006. The bus had a clear cover which was very dirty, causing the hazyness visible in the photo. My trip to New York was very much like the story in "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris. Only I felt like Sedaris, and my companions on the trip were both like the crazy southerner that was obsessed with the commercial aspect rather than New York itself. For example, I had "New York" pizza . . . at an Uno. I must go back by myself.
